Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 October 2026
This policy explains what information alt:lab (“we”, “us”) collects through this site, how we use it, and the choices you have. This site is used by artists who perform with alt:lab and by the alt:lab team to prepare and publish episodes.
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, artist name and email address.
- Details about your set, such as genres, track information, clip selections and social handles.
- Files you or we upload, including set recordings, images and video clips.
- Basic technical information needed to run the site, such as browser type and request logs.
How we use it
- To prepare, edit and publish your episode, clips and promotional content.
- To credit you correctly and contact you about your set.
- To operate, secure and improve the site.
We do not sell your personal information.
Services we rely on
We use trusted providers to host and process data on our behalf, including Google Firebase (database and authentication), Cloudflare R2 (file storage) and our own rendering servers. Published content is shared on platforms such as YouTube and social media, where those platforms’ own policies apply.
YouTube API Services
alt:lab uses YouTube API Services to upload and manage videos on the alt:lab YouTube channel. Only the alt:lab team connects a Google account for this; artists are never asked to sign in with Google. Use of YouTube is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Access can be revoked at any time from Google’s security settings.
When the alt:lab team connects a Google account, the app requests:
- youtube.upload, to upload finished episodes to the alt:lab channel.
- youtube.readonly, only to display the name of the connected channel in the admin settings.
The resulting access token is stored securely on our servers, is used only for these purposes, and is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. Disconnecting the channel in the admin settings deletes the stored token. alt:lab’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention
We keep your information for as long as it is needed to produce and publish your episode and for our archive. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to anything we must keep for legal reasons or content that has already been published.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
